Review | The Revenant

What a film!

This Oscar nominated spectacular movie was such an amazing film! Leonardo DiCaprio's Oscar Nominated performance was brilliant and the cinematography was breath-taking - and fans believe this could his chance to finally win a well earned Oscar!

The Revenant follows a semi-factual story of Hugh Glass, a fur-trapper in the early 1800s America, who is left behind from his group of fellow men to die in the harsh and extreme environment - after being brutally attacked and mauled by a grizzly bear.

It is a film about vengeance for the ringleader who left him to die, and Glass' determination to seek safety in an American settlement. The true emotions are crystal clear and Leonardo DiCaprio's acting creates a transparent character as we can see Hugh Glass' deep feelings and we feel great empathy throughout the film.

*Warning! If you are of a nervous disposition - look away now*
The Revenant is certainly not for those of you who are of a delicate disposition as many scenes contain brutal and graphic battles against Mother Nature. The film showcases the resilience of mankind.

Overall, this is an incredibly breath-taking film that is worthy of its sweep across the film awards scene. The rough and raw imagery and scenery creates an unforgettable movie experience. I truly believe this could one of the best moments in Leonardo DiCaprio's career!
