The At The Pictures Film Quiz!

I have created the ultimate quiz to see whether you are really a film fan! I have compiled 10 true or false questions to test your knowledge, and don't forget to comment down below how well you do!

Review | Eye in the Sky

A thriller packed with action but also causes the viewer to make moral decisions.

This is a film based on modern war, without combat as of such, but battle with controls and technology (especially military drones). The film follows the tracking of terrorists, but innocent civilians stand in the way. It keeps the audience flitting between who is good and evil, and we judge, as the audience, who holds the responsibility of deaths.

Overall, a brilliant, well thought out film that is filled with suspense, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It challenges our personal and social morals.

Get The Look | Liberty Matthews (Fashion)

Today I am going to show you how you can achieve this gorgeous outfit shown on Liberty Matthews in my film The Imitation. I have already shown you how to create the makeup look, and now I am going to show you how you can achieve the outfit!

Similarly to her makeup, I wanted the clothes worn by Liberty to reflect her personality. Liberty is dressed in a black floral floaty dress with red heels. The black floral dress has many symbolisms. The floral pattern expresses her femininity but the black colours represent the evil leaking out in the death scene in which she wears the outfit. The floatiness of the skirt shows that she is no longer restricted in her relationship with Richard, and this is the scene when she becomes free. The red high heels show her fierce side, and the colour red also connotes blood, danger and warning.

| Items worn in this outfit |
Black Floral Dress - Dorothy Perkins
Red Heels - Primark
Gold Hoop Earrings - New Look

New Orpington Odeon Cinema

Finally a new cinema has opened where I live!

I was very excited when I heard about the arrival of the new Odeon cinema opening in my town, Orpington! The building of the new Odeon cinema seems to have taken a lifetime, but the cinema was recently just opened! The new project aimed to provide a wonderful cinema experience, new restaurants and an Isense screen. So what's my verdict?

I couldn't wait to get down to the cinema to see what it was like. My friends and I booked to go on a girls night to see the new comedy How To Be Single. The exterior of the cinema looked fantastic and was a certain improvement from the previous office blocks. Once we had stepped inside it was as if we had been transported into a new and modern part of the world. The escalators took us up into the foyer where we happily purchased our popcorn, sweets and Tango Ice Blasts (absolute necessities!!) Everywhere looked squeaky clean and brand new, as we walked through the corridor into the screen. We sat down in our assigned seats and were really happy with how comfortable they were, and also how much space we had!

The film was hilarious, and you can check out my review of How To Be Single here. I had a great night in the new cinema, and I can't wait to return. As a cinema is now located closer to me, I am hoping to go a lot more often. I invested in an Odeon Premiere Card which means I can add up points to spend on tickets and cinema snacks. I would definitely recommend buying one of these cards, especially if you are a film lover like myself!

A Word From The Director/Producer

I had an amazing time filming The Imitation and I am very happy with the outcome. The idea took some time coming up with, but the idea surrounding 'The Secret', was something I was keen to use and develop. I really wanted to create a film that was not a typical film for teenagers (what most young film makers do), but actually something that would be perfect for older ages too.

The basic concept of The Imitation was a women trapped in an abusive relationship, and her plan to escape. I also wanted the majority of the film to follow Liberty after she breaks free from her relationship. The audience see how she struggles to stay hidden, and we watch how the detectives and police uncover her secret.

I had such an amazing time creating this film production piece with Amy Hale, and I was very happy with the outcome. We believe we have created an amazing new mystery film targeted at women who are 15+, but I am sure men would love it too! When filming we had a few issues with lighting in our location, but I was glad that I could make the best out of the situation using my editing skills. The music was brilliant to add into our sequence, and our actresses were amazing to work with.

I cannot contain my excitement for the screening at The Little Picturehouse cinema during a Film Fest competition for young filmmakers this 26th June. The evening will be phenominal and I can't wait to see some the other entrants work. Fingers crossed for an award, but I just truly can't wait to see everyone's hard efforts in the showcase.

That's a wrap!

Lily Richards

P.S. I hope to see loads of you there at the evening, it will be so much fun! (Check out the contact me page for more information on the event)

Get The Look | Liberty Matthews (Beauty)

The determined protagonist in The Imitation, Liberty Matthews, always looks amazing! If you want to look sassy and fierce then take a look at how Liberty Matthews does her makeup. To achieve her look, keep reading!

I tried to capture Liberty's personality in this makeup look. Liberty lives a sheltered life due to her abusive husband and housewife role, therefore I gave her a natural look. Although, Liberty has a fire within and her interior darkness and fierceness is what I brought out by using the red lipstick.

Today I am going to share with you 12 beautiful, strong female protagonists in many movies. These characters are all different but portray great women. Holly Golightly [Breakfast at Tiffany's]

Cher Horowitz [Clueless]

Francis (Baby) Houseman [Dirty Dancing]

Kat Stratford [10 Things I Hate About You]

Mulan [Mulan]

Katnis Everdeen [The Hunger Games]

Merida [Brave]

Tris [Divergent]

Andy Sachs [The Devil Wears Prada]

Amanda and Iris [The Holiday]

Do you agree with me? Have you been inspired by any other strong characters?
